The June 25 confer- ence was attended by maintenance and opera- tions trades people and district custodians, with workshops given by industry and maintenance professionals. In an email, Jeff McClure, Cheney School Dis- trict director of maintenance and operations, said attendees could take part in up to four workshops in subjects such as LED lighting, playground safety, respiratory protection, indoor air quality, roofing, pest control and flooring techniques. "The classes are different every year and are rules and methods, all designed to make schools an even safer place for kids," McClure wrote. The conference also included 20 vendor booths displaying new products relating to school main- tenance. The conference's keynote speaker was former Cheney School District Superintendent, and current Rosalia School District Superinten- dent Larry Keller. Besides Cheney, school districts sending per- sonnel to the conference were Almira, Central Valley, Chewelah, Davenport, Inchelium, Liberty, Mead, Medical Lake, Reardan-Edwall, Riverside, Rosalia, Spokane, Sprague, Saint George's, St. John and Valley.
