Broemeling, 73, of Cheney, passed away Dec. 3, at Franklin Hills Health and Rehabilita- tion Center in Spokane after a long battle with cancer. He was born Aug. 21,1935 in Uniontown, Wash'., the eighth child of Peter and Anna Broemeling. The family moved to Pullman, Wash., in 1944. He attended Pullman _hools. He enlisted in the United States Army during the Korean War and was stationed in France. He worked for Stokley Van Camp in Pullman and also as a long haul truck driver, electrician, and in excavating in the Cheney area where he lived for many years. His favorite saying was "I've been everywhere, man." He was a memlz~ of the American Legion in Cheney. He is survived by his step daugh- ter and care giver Zae Anderson of Cheney; and brothers; Louis (Laida) Broemeling of San Marcos, Calif.; Vince (Leona) Broemeling of Emmett, Idaho; Mark Broemeling of Prineville, Ore.; sisters; Lucy Romine of Walla- W la, Wash.; Marlene (Don) Bamer of Prfllman, and Helen (Nathan) Gab- bert of Green V alley, Ariz.: his grand- children Jayson and Sarah McCon- nell of Cheney. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and cousins. Cletus was preceded in death by his parents Peter and Anna Broemeling, his daughter Jennifer McConneU, his brothers, Melvin Broemeling and Donald Broemeling and his sister Phyllis Broemeling, and brother-in- law Fred Romine. Als0 preceding him in death was a niece, Denise Broemel- ing, and a nephew, Dan Barner. A special thanks to the Legion and all who helped with the care of Cletus during his illness. A service wiU be planned for a later date.
