NEIGHBOR NEWS CHENEY FREE PRESS Thursday, December24,201517 CHURCHES Cheney Community Church Cheney Community Church has scheduled a Christ- mas Eve candlelight service for 5 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 24. The program will include lighting of the Advent wreath, traditional Christmas carols interspersed with Scripture readings, a vocal solo, and a devotional. The Luke 2 Christmas story will be read to the children who will then sing "Away in a Manger." As we celebrate Christ's first advent, we anticipate his second coming as well. Merry Christmas to everyone. May our Lord's blessings be yours in the com- ing year. The angel said to the shep- herds, "Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord," Luke 2:10-11. Cheney United Church of Christ Cheney UCC wishes everyone a blessed Christmas and invites you to our Christmas Eve service tonight, Dec. 24, at 7 p.m. Then, please join us for our Sunday ser- vice at 10 a.m. on Dec. 27. The 4:30 p.m. service will feature special music by the choir and 7 p.m. service will include Holy Communion. Coffee and cookies will be available in between services. All are welcome as we celebrate the birth of Jesus in our world.
