Paoe 8 Chcncy Free Press Thurs., Dec. 30, 1976 Auditions scheduled Auditions for actors, singers, dancers and technicians for what is billed as an electronic rock and roll science fiction musical ad- venture comedy called "The Ad- ventures of Rich and Judy in Search of the Golden Triangle" will be held January 3 and 4 at the Westminster Congregational Youth Center, 4th and Bernard, Spokane at 7 p.m., according to the show's writers, Jerry Kraft and Charles Gassett. Both Kraft, who wrote the book and lyrics, and Gassett, who com- posed the music for the new show, live in Cheney. They are the writers of the successful children's musical "Pinocchio" that played two years ago at Spo- kane's Civic Theatre and in Chen- ey. They have also written a yet to be produced musical loosely based on Cheney area history called "The Ballad of Willow Springs." "The Adventures of Rich and Judy in Search of the Golden Triangle" will open March 5 for a five week run at the Civic Thea- tre. It will be part of the Child- ren's Theatre Conference meet- ing in Spokane this spring. The show will also tour. Doug Kropff will direct the musical, Jan Farley will design lhe sets and special eletronic effects will be done by Larry Ellingson. Tryout are open to all persons, Kraft said. Fifteen parts will be cast. Immunizations planned for Cheney A full slate of iramunizations will be offered Wednesday, Jan. 5 at the Southwest County Health Center, 115 College in Cheney, the Spokane County Health District announced last week. A $1 charge will be requested for services to all patients over two years of age. Children under twe will be immunized free of charge. Being offered is diphtheria, whooping cough, tetanus and pol- io protection, as well as measles, mumps, and rubella vaccines and tuberculin skin testing. Patients are urged to bring their immunization records with them. Staying on A partial waiver from Referen- dum 36, a new law which requires certain appointed public officals and members of state boards and commissions to disclose financial information, persuaded Eastern Washington State College trustee Mary Wilson to stay on after earlier indications that she would follow the example of former trustee Morris Shore and resign rather than comply with the law. Mrs. Wilson was unable to dis- close the details of the waiver at press time, having not received offical notice of the state's de- cision. Knauft arrested by CPD Richard James Knauft, 2612 W. Sinto, Spokane, was served with a bench warrant in the Spokane County Jail Dec. 22 after being arrested in Spokane on a Spokane Police warrant, according to the CPD. Bond on the Cheney warrant is $150. Following sentencing in Spokane on the SPD warrant, the suspect will be sent to Cheney for turther court action, according to the CPI). Airman Swan at Utah AF base Senior Airman Jeff Swan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Swan of 340 Nolan Brown Place in Cheney, recently arrived for duty at Hill Air Force Base near Ogden, Utah, according to the USAF News Service. Swan, a telephone switching equipment repairman with a unit of the Air Force Communications Service, came to Hill AFB from Elmendorf AFB in Alaska. He is a 1973 graduate of Cheney High School and attended the University of Alaska at Anchor- age. McKeehan received receives Coast Guard medal Yeoman First Class Mike Mc- Keohan, Cheney, was awarded the Armed Forces Reserve Med- al for serving 10 years in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve on Dec. 6, according to reports received last week from the USCG. in Twenty-five pre-schoolers, all students of Lois Baumgarten and Glea Trulove in their Musical Kindergarten, presented a Christmas program December 17 at the Emanuel Lutheran Church. Twelve students were not listed in the article appearing in last week's edition of the paper. The are Sandi Kay McCarty, Dustin Robbins and Scott Gilbreth who sang the first verse of "Up on the Housetop," Shelli Miller, Kim- berly Jordan and Heidi Kenoyer who sang the second verse, and Trevor White, Sean Dotson and Young singers Christmas program Brian Krestian who sang the third verse. Singing "Snow- flakes" were Randy Weatherbee, Cathy Schmitt and Rabble Davis. Helping out Shoveling out of the house Sunday morning on Gregory Drive, these two children are probably getting things prepared for snowman construction later in the day.
