SHANNONDOAH THE FIRESIDE IIIINIIY '- WAKE Uiq - - For nearly eleven months now you have read (hope- fully) an article like this in the paper every week. Some of the articles have spoken of things upon which many of us agree; others have irritated you. Many of the ar- ticles have spoken against denominationalism or division. You may ask why we continue to write such articles which obviously will make some people downright mad. The purpose of our articles is to try to stir you to ex- amine the things {ou believe -- not examine in light of what I say, but in I,ght of what the Bible says. Some people won't do that unless they get mad enough to prove me wrong. Others will examine only though the challenge to reason things out. Some will examsne when told they ere wrong and presented with truth. Some are already searching. "God, is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him," (Hebrews 11:6). Jesus and the New Testament writers show over and over that we do not love if we allow others to continue in error that leads to hell. We love when we teach God's truth and "persuade men" (11 Corinthians 5:11). Too many of you are content to sit back in man-made religion and not "search the scriptures" (Acts 17:11) to see of these things are true which you are being taught. Just as Ameri- ca has had to be awakened to the dangers of pollution, so America (and others) need to awaken end see the religious pollution that is choking out the effect of true gospel. Our articles are primarily designed to say, WAKE UP! Reacl II Corinthians 13.5; I Corinthians 19:12; Acts 17:!1; rk 7:6.9; and Acts 20:26-27). . .
