/ I CHENEY FREE PRESS Thursday, December 31, 2015 Westwood students write lines of code Over 100 sixth-, seventh- and eighth-graders at West- wood Middle School partici- pated in the Hour of Code as a part of Computer Science Edu- cation Week, Dec. 10. In their classrooms and in the library, students practiced Scratch - a coding language developed at MIT- to write code for Dis- ney, Star Wars, and Minecraft games. By the end of the day, WMS students had written over 3,000 lines of code. They will be held in the Sunset Elementary School Library from 6-7:30 p.m., and free childcare is pro- vided. The benefits of the class are countless. This program provides simple solutions, tips and practical techniques to help adults develop and maintain positive relationships with children.
